Staff Accountant

Versetal is looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant who has an ability to multi-task. This position will report to the CFO and help to provide support by performing daily accounting tasks. Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyze transactions generated by day-to-day general accounting functions.
  • Reconcile bank statements to appropriate cash accounts to ensure accuracy.
  • Accounts Payable processing: entering invoices into accounting system, scheduling and preparing payment runs.
  • Accounts Receivable: entering invoices; recording and reconciling cash receipts and bank deposits
  • Review and code Amex transactions
  • Perform general ledger account reconciliations, account analysis, accrual calculations, and other related accounting documents/schedules.
  • Expense report processing
  • Analyze weekly timesheet reports
  • Assists with supporting schedules and journal entries for monthly closing.
  • Assists with testing and analysis for implementation of ERP system.
  • Special projects or other duties as required by CFO.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with relevant computer software
  • Strong desire to learn and develop your professional and accounting skill set.
  • Must have time management skills, strong organizational skills and ability to track workflow and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must have a strong sense of accountability (e.g., you regularly meet your goals, you complete all tasks assigned to you, you can work independently, you propose solutions to problems, etc.)
  • 1-2 years of accounting experience a plus
