Systems Engineer

Experience Required:

  • BS in Computer Science or Information Technology or related field (Preferred). We will consider candidates with related professional experience and certifications.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ support services experience in IT Help Desk and/or Desktop Support operations troubleshooting PC, peripheral, and network issues.
  • Some exposure to cloud-based network infrastructure including Azure, Active Directory Single-Sign On (SSO) and Identity Management (Okta preferred)

Responsibilities:

  • Function as our Hands-on Leader for our client facing service desk operations with our customers, PMO and our Offshore team leads tracking SLAs, Communications, Process, Reporting and ensuring a Quality of Service.
  • Daily administration including monitoring of the network, servers and desktops.
  • Active Directory administration (DNS/DHCP/Group Policy).
  • Perform basic user account administration (adds, changes, deletes).
  • Perform system builds (desktop/laptop/servers).
  • Manage system backups and perform data restores as required.
  • Maintain and manage corporate switches, firewalls, VPNs and routers.
  • Administer Windows based servers for daily maintenance.
  • Ensure security and protection of data on corporate network devices.
  • Identify, remediate, and report on security alerts (viruses, malware, compliance, etc.)
  • Assist in software inventory management and adhere to software licensing compliance.
  • Strategize, advise, implement, and support strategic end-user computing solutions, as assigned.
  • Perform application installations and upgrades, including patch management.
  • Provide technical assessments and process documentation.
  • Assist in Cloud migrations and integration projects
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

  • Self-motivated and goal driven, with the ability to multitask and to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of Windows Desktop applications; various operating systems such as Windows 10 and 11 as well as Windows Server 2008 through Windows Server 2019.
  • Knowledge of software applications and basic hardware for the PC
  • Principles and terminology of networking on the Layer 1 and 2 side.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated expertise with the management and support of Microsoft Active Directory Domains.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated expertise with the management and support of Microsoft Office, M365, InTune, AD, MacOS and common productivity applications.
  • Knowledge of wireless networking components and terminology; Familiarity with Cisco, Fortinet, Sonicwall, and Aruba Wireless Networks and similar technologies are a plus.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks, status actions items, respond to changing priorities, and react to short deadlines.
  • Creating and maintaining user self-help documentation, technical documentation and procedural documentation.
  • Desire and willingness to take on IT projects of all kinds, taking advantage of Versetal’s existing senior IT staff to provide guidance and knowledge sharing.
  • Knowledge of security tools such as EDR, SIEM and Vulnerability Management.
  • Up to 60% travel (local and out-of-state) to provide collaboration with our Managed Services clients

  • Learn our Managed Services framework, assist in the build and execution of great process to support our customers.
  • Learn our CyberSecurity-as-a-Service and Remote Management & Monitoring platform to deploy, configure, enhance and administer for our Managed Services and Hosted cloud customers.
  • Learn Cloud concepts that include AWS, Azure and Google relative to Hybrid cloud systems, networking and deployments
